Hello, you beautiful peoples.

I probably should have said some stuff earlier about it, but I'm going to be at Quakecon 2015 from July 22nd to the 26th! I'm gonna be showing off The Adventures of Square with some other dudes on the team, namely Pavera, Clonedpickle, and the mysterious XASER!

What!? Xaser isn't an intricate Turing-Test-beating AI based in Antarctica and is actually a real dude? I know, I'm disappointed, too. But hey! I'll get to see him in person, and so will you if you come down to Dallas, TX for Quakecon!

Doom is in the hands of Bethesda, and John Carmack might not be there, but hey, it should still be fun, and other Doom Community personalities will be there, too!

Also, Square was mentioned in an article on Playboy's Website written by Ben Barrett. Just glad I didn't need to appear nude in the middle of it. Nobody wants that!

'Sup, fools.

You know that interview that Andi Hamilton wanted to do that I talked about in the Trip to EGX article? Well, it's finally in print!

Andi's article, The Cult of Doom, can be found in the June 2015 UK or July 2015 US issue of PC Gamer magazine. It's the one with Star Wars: Battlefront on the cover. Three screenshots of The Adventures of Square got in, as well as a whole bunch of words about Doom from me, Jimmy, and even newbie-mapper/oldie creator Cyriak, maker of megawad Going Down.

Get a copy and read it! You can probably find it in major bookstores and magazine outlets.

Howdy, y'all!

I'm gonna be in Berlin, Germany for A MAZE. Berlin 2015 showing off The Adventures of Square! Will it be just Episode 1? Will we have an Episode 2 preview? Who knows! It'll still be great, either way.

It's going to be a fun evening of crazy game-creating types and artists and whatever at Urban Spree, so get your tickets and come on down!

BE THERE AND BE SQUARE! (has that overstayed its welcome, yet?)

UPDATE 4/23: So Square wasn't one of the finalists, so it wasn't shown in the showcase. Oh, well. I'm still there, though! Come hang out and talk about stuff!

Good news, everyone!

The Adventures of Square is gonna be at EGX Rezzed 2015 at London, UK as part of the Leftfield Collection! And I'm gonna be there (and be square)!

I'm both excited and nervous, as this is probably going to be a lot of firsts for me:

  • First time leaving the country.
  • First time going to a gaming convention.
  • First time going to a gaming convention with a game at a showcase.
  • First time meeting up with other people in the Doom Community in-person (always scary).
  • First time needing to convert everything in my head to USD.

All in all, it should be an amazing time. See you there!

Now I'm playin' it real straight, and yes, I cut my hair.

It's been a long, long time. But during my absence, I was working on a game with a bunch of friends across the globe called The Adventures of Square! It's a standalone game for the ZDoom Engine. We're going to be making a full 3-episode game, but we decided to release the first episode to create some buzz out on the indie scene.

You should really be playing it. Why aren't you? GET IT! PLAY IT! LOVE IT! Be there and be Square!

First post of the year!

In late March!

About something that happened in early February!

So I did this thing on Doom Radio where I, Alfonzo, dew, and Tarnsman talk about the recent Cacowards at DoomWorld, and I get really modest about Forsaken Overlook winning an award.

Listen to it here!

So the 20th Anniversary of Doom came and went, and another edition of the Cacowards is presented.

And wouldn't you know it, I actually won one for Forsaken Overlook, which is quite a surprise, and is my first solo award (others were due to project collaboration).

I'd like to thank the staff at Doomworld, Brian "Snakes" Knox for the Secret Santa project which was the impetus for making such a map, Chris "lupinx-Kassman" Kassap for having a distinct enough style to use as guidance, and everyone who played and nominated it.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all, Happy Dooming.
